For its 6th edition, the DRHEAM-CUP / GRAND PRIX DE FRANCE DE COURSE AU LARGE is making a grand return to our town, marking its 10th anniversary in style. Over time, this event has established itself as an unmissable popular event. In organising the race village, the City offers the tens of thousands of visitors a special moment of sharing and friendship, supported by the values of sport and sailing. Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, a city that looks to the sea, fosters a strong, historical and living attachment to hosting international competitions. The Drheam-cup illustrates this remarkably, contributing to the success of our exceptional harbour infrastructure and the attractiveness of our city. I am delighted with this renewed, loyal and ambitious collaboration, as well as the new partnership with Lorient, a sailing hotspot, which will welcome the finish of this great maritime adventure for the first time.

Hosting the finish of the DRHEAM-CUP / GRAND PRIX DE FRANCE DE COURSE AU LARGE in Lorient La Base is a great honour for Brittany’s largest maritime region. By connecting the harbours of Cherbourg and Lorient, this race forms a strategic axis between two major ports at the heart of France’s military and civilian maritime interests. Held the year of the French Navy’s 400th anniversary and the 360th anniversary of the city of Lorient, it highlights the continuity between our maritime heritage and the challenges of today: sovereignty, innovation and maritime transition.
In Lorient Agglomeration, offshore racing is part of a unique ecosystem, where athletic performance, innovation and collective ambition come together.
The DRHEAM-CUP is a great showcase for Lorient and a strong statement that France’s future is also at sea.

To mark the 6th edition of the DRHEAM-CUP, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Cotentin region is proud to once again host this major offshore racing event, from 9 to 12 July 2026 in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin. More than just a competition, the DRHEAM-CUP fully embodies the maritime identity of our region, this “Terre Bleue” that looks out to the sea, innovation and sharing.
With nearly 100 boats expected and skippers from all over the world, this anniversary edition confirms the event’s international standing. It also demonstrates our ability to make the Cotentin an exceptional playground for all lovers of the open sea.
The DRHEAM-CUP is also a big popular celebration open to all. A lively village, festive highlights, events for young people: everything is in place to bring the public closer to this fascinating world and inspire future sailors.

The DRHEAM-CUP is back for its sixth edition. Over the past 10 years, it has become an unmissable event, both for spectators and amateurs who want to experience the thrill of ocean sailing, and for sailors striving for peak performance.
Next July, Cotentin will come alive with the hustle and bustle of the crews’ preparations, the spray of the waves against the hulls, and the cheers of amazed spectators. The final adjustments of skippers will ring out in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin harbour, the centre of all this nautical energy. The sailors will set off from the Manche, a region that looks out to the ocean. For those staying on land, the spirit of adventure will be experienced through the festivities and sense of community in the port.
Amateur and professional sailors, and even young people taking part in the Drheam-Trophy as part of Rêves de Large event, will set sail on the event’s different courses. Passing by the Isle of Man or Bilbao, the main race will run from Cherbourg to Lorient, the event’s new destination.
